Over the years we have worked hard to establish a training programme that meets the needs of all of our employees, and by identifying that everyone learns in different ways, we believe that our training programmes can bring out the best in everyone and help make the difference to the individual and to our customers.
For our operational team, we have developed an in-depth induction process that covers all aspects of welcoming you to the company and introducing you to the company’s policies and procedures, as well as showing you the basics of your role within your team.
We encourage "on the job" training as we believe this is quite often the best way to work in the operational environment. What better way to learn than when you are performing your job? We do require that all new employees remain in training until they have been signed off a bespoke training planner, and this is completed and verified by the line manager.
Our training doesn’t end once you begin your role, in fact the opportunity to learn more simply increases.
We have developed a number of workbooks that assist you in your role, specifically in managing the news or greeting cards categories and encourage employees to learn more about the products we sell and the services we provide.
For all employees there is the opportunity to complete various NVQs at level 2 and all further training needs are identified through our appraisal system, which requires that all employees receive an appraisal annually with a 6 monthly review, which results in a personal development plan being compiled.
