“In 2003 I joined Mills as a Marketing Assistant and before long I had worked towards becoming a Sales & Marketing Executive with staff management responsibilities. In April 2007 I was given an opportunity build upon my role to venture into the world of buying. My current role is now split into three key areas:
1 – To oversee the production of all internal and external communications, such as the weekly bulletin, 3 weekly production briefs, point of sale, in-store theatre, leaflets etc.
2 – Manage a team of Buying Support Administrators, each administrator supports a buyer with the implementation of ranges, costs and retails on our EPOS system.
3 – Manage the Confectionery Category, I meet with suppliers on a regular basis, discuss sales performance against the market place, category ranges, planogram compliance, new product development, 3 weekly promotional activity and work together to drive sales forward. Profit margins, waste and stock levels are very important and must be monitored.” Joanne Scorer - Confectionery Buyer/Sales and Marketing Executive Mills House
